Hey everyone! It’s been a while and a lot has happened for us since our last update. So I wanted to take this time before January gets too far along to do a quick rewind of 2016 and get caught up.
My last update was in September, when we explored around Dalsland with my second-cousin Kent, his wife Lillemor and Joe’s mom Cara.
I’m also going to schedule a few more break-out posts with more on our trip to Berlin in December and one on the lovely Östra Kyrkogården (East Cemetery) near where we live in Gothenburg.
But for now, let’s pick up where we left off with a few photo sets to show you what we’ve been up to these last few months:
In September I had the privilege to photograph Zephyra, featuring good friends Åsa and Tony, in a performance with The Agonist at the legendary venue Sticky Fingers. The club has seen the rise of Gothenburg’s most notable metal acts throughout the years. Read Åsa’s blog here.
October greeted us with a visit from Amanda. We became friends as the weirdos in high school music theory, and separately we each learned to love photography, journalism and travel in the following years. A badass photojournalist now based in Thailand, Amanda has collected an impressive set of honors since we last saw each other. I hope to be just like her when I grow up.
October is also home to my favorite holiday: Halloween! So here are some assorted spooky things from our Halloween season.
Tangentially related to Halloween, I also took a photo walk around the scenic Östra Kyrkogården (East Cemetery) in Gothenburg in October, when the leaves were just shedding from the trees.
In November, our US BFF Chris visited, and we took him on some adventures as well. We also went with Åsa and Tony to see the Lights at Alingsås, an annual lights exhibition that spans throughout the city. We also celebrated American Thanksgiving with our dear friends Adde, Malin, Kriss & Lisa, but I don’t have pictures of that. Kriss makes a killer sweet potato pie; trust me on that one.
And here are photos of some fun we had with Chris. We take everyone to Brännö. It’s the best.
Much of December was spent with various festivities, holiday or otherwise, and we capped off the year with a trip to Berlin! More on that soon.
